The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), recognised globally as the Parliament of the Sikh Nation, now extends its presence to the United Kingdom and Europe. SGPC UK serves as the central authority representing the Sikh community in matters of governance, policy, education, and public engagement.
Working in partnership with Gurdwaras, community leaders, and public institutions, SGPC UK acts as the official liaison between the Sikh community and government bodies. It leads on policy development, produces white papers, and establishes think tanks to ensure Sikh representation within public policy and decision-making.
SGPC UK is committed to safeguarding Sikh heritage, promoting education about Sikh history and beliefs, and ensuring the correct governance of Gurdwaras in collaboration with the Charity Commission UK. It also provides mediation and guidance on disputes and community matters, ensuring fairness and unity across all Sikh institutions.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has inaugurated its first ever Coordination Centre outside India, in Birmingham.
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami highlighted the historic nature of this step, describing it as “a vital bridge between the Sikh Sangat abroad and the central institutions of the Panth.”
Through this Centre, the SGPC will provide direct assistance with accommodation, yatra arrangements, and spiritual services.
For the first time, Sikhs abroad can book official rooms at Takht Sahibs and request an Akhand Paath Sahib directly through an authorised channel.
This milestone was achieved through the dedicated efforts of SGPC members Sardar Gurinder Singh Bawa and executive committee member Bibi Harjinder Kaur.
